FlowPilot is not an agency. There is no sales layer between you and the people who build your system, and nobody hands you to an account manager once the contract is signed. The person who maps your workflow is the person who builds it, and they are still there after it launches.

Before FlowPilot
I am a civil engineer by background. I spent nine years as a project manager in civil construction, working on land developments: the work that turns raw land into titled lots, with earthworks, drainage, roads and a long queue of authorities in between.
There was not much organisation to any of it. Information sat wherever the last person left it, everyone did the same task a slightly different way, and the things that mattered most were the easiest to lose.
The first thing I ever built was a variations and RFI tracker. Not because I wanted to write software, but because on a live job there are dozens of both, every one of them is worth money or time, and they were spread across email, a spreadsheet and whatever somebody happened to remember. I built something that held them in one place.
Off-the-shelf software was never going to fix it, because the part that does not fit ends up back in a spreadsheet anyway.
It worked, so I built the next thing, and then the one after that. The tools kept getting bigger until they were not tools any more. They were systems, and building them had become the job.
What I see in every business
Nine years in one industry taught me the problem. Working across others since has taught me it was never an industry problem at all. It is the same four things everywhere.
- The information is scattered. It sits across inboxes, drives, spreadsheets and apps that do not talk to each other, so the answer to one question lives in four places.
- There are gaps between people. Work passes from one person to the next, something quietly drops, and nobody owns the handover.
- Everyone does it differently. The same task gets done three ways by three people, because there is no structure telling them otherwise.
- The knowledge lives in people's heads. The parts that actually keep the place running are not written down anywhere. They belong to two or three long-serving people.
That last one is the one that keeps owners up once they notice it.
How I work
I start with the thing costing you time or money, not with a demo. The first conversation is twenty minutes and there is nothing to prepare. If a spreadsheet or an off-the-shelf tool would do the job better, I will tell you, because a build that should not have happened helps neither of us.
The part I actually enjoy is the learning. Every business runs differently, and working out how takes a few days of asking questions and watching people do the job. Then you get to build the thing, and watch the place get better at what it already does well.
Where I work
FlowPilot Systems is Melbourne based and Australian owned, and we work with businesses around Australia. For the mapping we come to you where we can, and do it over video where that is not practical. The build itself is done remotely either way.
